She was born and raised in the Dominican Republic.
She completed her baccalaureate in education, became a teacher, and later the principal of a small elementary school.
She moved to New York City in the late 1940’s. There she met and married her late husband, Dominic Rondinelli, a World War II Marine veteran. They returned to Staten Island where they had seven children. His untimely death in July of 1958 left her a very young widow.

When her children were young, she loved traveling about in her large, Aqua-colored Chevy Biscayne station wagon. She would take all her children and many of the neighborhood “kids” to various activities. She later traveled nationally and internationally, visiting family and having fun. She even went to the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.
Carmen had a beautiful smile, was friendly, fun-loving, loyal and loving. She was a devoted sister, mother, godmother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
