STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Charles Farina, 97, of Dongan Hills, a loving uncle and a longtime New York Giants football fan, died Tuesday in Clove Lakes Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, in Castleton Corners.
Born and raised in Manhattan, Mr. Farina moved to Dongan Hills in 1980.
He worked as a cement laborer and construction worker for many years, until retiring in 1973.
“He lived a quiet life,” said his nephew, Joseph Vultaggio. “He was happy to have a couple of beers and watch the game.”
Mr. Farina also enjoyed hanging out at Frank’s barber shop, talking with his friends.
An avid New York Giants fan, he was an original ticketholder to the team’s games played at Yankee Stadium.
Mr. Farina attended St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Dongan Hills.
