Charles "Lucky" Steiner

Born on June 11, 1945, Lucky proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967, where he worked as a helicopter mechanic and was recognized as a skilled marksman with the M14 rifle. He was honorably discharged and received several military honors, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

In 1974, Lucky married the love of his life, Linda Catanese. Together they shared 52 years of marriage and raised their daughter, Michelle Calano. He was a devoted and proud “Papa” to his grandson, Thomas Charles Gagliardi, and a loving “Bonus Papa” to Savannah Calano. Lucky cherished time with his family, especially moments spent with his grandson, and enjoyed his many trips to the Borgata.

Lucky worked alongside his father, Charles, and his brother, Joseph, at Steiner Roofing. A natural businessman, he later ran his own company, Promotors, buying and selling cars for much of his life. He also dedicated many years of service as a Fire Alarm Dispatcher for the FDNY.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles William Steiner and Florence Carlson, and his sister, Mary Steiner. Lucky is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; daughter, Michelle, and son-in-law, John; grandson, Thomas; granddaughter, Savannah; his sisters, Carol Moyer, Patricia Guccione, and Helene Manley; his brother, Joseph Steiner (wife Sue); and many nieces and nephews who will always remember him lovingly as “Uncle Lucky.”

Visitation will be held at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 1634 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10314, on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 9:30 am.

The Committal Service will follow at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Road, Staten Island, NY 10306, at 10:45 am.

Lucky will be remembered for his service to his country, his devotion to his family, and his warm and generous spirit.
