Cyprian "Chippy" La Pastina Sr.

Cyprian “Chippy” La Pastina, Sr., of Staten Island, New York, passed away on October 14, 2025, at the age of 80. Born in Brooklyn on April 8, 1945, Chippy moved to Staten Island at the age of two, where he built a life centered around family, friendship, and hard work.

A skilled jeweler and businessman, Chippy was the founder and owner of Diamonds by Chippy in The Woodbridge Jewelry Exchange. Known for his honesty, craftsmanship, and friendly personality, he earned the trust and admiration of countless customers over the years. Before entering the jewelry trade, Chippy owned and operated several barber shops throughout Staten Island, where his humor and warmth made everyone feel like family. After decades of dedication, he retired ten years ago to enjoy time with his loved ones.

Chippy was the devoted husband of Lucille La Pastina for 62 beautiful years. Together, they shared a life filled with love and laughter, raising their children Very Reverend Cyprian P. La Pastina, Angelo La Pastina, and Sheri Trezza, along with his cherished son-in-law John Trezza. He was the proud and loving grandfather of John Trezza and Anthony Trezza, who brought him endless joy.

He found great happiness in simple pleasures — spending time with his family, tending to his garden, and sharing stories that always left those around him smiling. His kindness, generosity, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314, on October 18, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The Funeral Mass will follow at St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 1634 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10314, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

A committal service will take place immediately after at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Road, Staten Island, NY 10306, from 11:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

He will be remembered always for his love of family, his unwavering work ethic, and the warmth he shared with everyone who crossed his path.
