

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Former Staten Islander Danny Caceres Sr., 57, of Bonita Springs, Fla., a limousine driver who loved his family and friends and was a fishing enthusiast, died Tuesday in Hope Hospice, Bonita Springs, after a battle with cancer.
Born in Manhattan, he moved with family to Stapleton as a child and grew up there. He later lived in Rosebank until relocating to Florida in 2006.
Mr. Caceres was a graduate of Curtis High School.
He had been working as a limo driver for Elite Limousine Service of Bonita Springs for eight years. While living on the Island he also worked as a limousine driver.
Mr. Caceres was an avid fisherman.
"He loved the weather in Florida, he could go fishing whenever he wanted," said his sister, Margie Grissler.
Mr. Caceres also enjoyed playing softball, as well as playing cards and dominoes.
"He had the biggest heart. He had loads of friends. He was just a great, great guy," his sister said.
Also surviving Mr. Caceres are his son, Danny Jr.; his daughter, Sabrina Caceres; his brothers, Julio, Frank, Robert and Richard; his sisters, Diana Umana, Doris Velez, Martha Taliento and Cristina O'Dowd, and four grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Monday at 8:30 p.m. in the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners. Arrangements include cremation.
