

Debra Quanci of Westerleigh, Staten Island, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024. She was 62 years old. She was born in Jamaica, Queens, on August 26, 1962. She was raised in Brooklyn and settled in Staten Island in late childhood, where she lived a life full of adventures. Known to many as the kooky lady with the Halloween decorations in her neighborhood, Debby was deeply committed to her community. She had an open-door policy and never turned anyone or any animal away.
Debra was a beloved mother to Skye, Hope, Michael, and Anthony Daversa, as well as Christopher and Anthony Hood Jr. She was a cherished daughter to Michael Daversa and Anthony & Terry Capitini, and a loving sister to Theresa Greenfield, Joseph & Michael Daversa, and Anthony Capitini. Debra was also a devoted wife to Anthony G. Hood, Sr.
A visitation for Debra will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 30, 2024, at 10:00 AM, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314. A committal service will occur Monday, December 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Rd, New York, NY 10306.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Debra’s name to the American Diabetes Association to help further their mission in supporting those affected by diabetes.
Debra will be remembered for her warmth, love, and the incredible mark she left on the lives of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
