Delois Carter-Gonzalez, was born on September 21, 1957. She was the 4th born to the late Mattie L. Carter and Charles W Carter. The Lord called her home on July 14, 2021. Born in Staten Island N.Y. Delois was raised in Mariners Harbor Houses, where she attended the local schools before graduating from Susan Wagner High School. She attended the College of Staten Island. She worked for the United States Postal Service for 33 years beating the pavement of Manhattan streets.
She married the late Andre Gonzalez, and in this union of 45 years they were blessed with a beautiful daughter Tameka Nicole Gonzalez. In between being a great wife and even greater mom, she was very active. She loved gardening, state sales, shopping, decorating, entertaining, and restoring furniture.
She loved children and they loved her. She was very kind and loving to all. She loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews.
Delois was a very strong black woman who believed in helping people no matter the circumstances. She cared about everyone around her and would go above and beyond to help anyone. To most people, Delois appeared to be quiet, shy and meek, but those who knew her best experienced her hidden personalities- witty humor, as well as a fierce spirit and sharp tongue.
Survivors include one daughter Tameka Nicole Gonzalez and siblings William Carter, Odessa Carter, Clarisse Carter, and Althea Carter and host of nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
