Native Staten Islander Dennis J. Donnelly, 45, of Eltingville, a home improvement contractor with a love for local music, died of a heart attack Sunday in Staten Island University Hospital, Prince’s Bay.
Born and raised in Oakwood, Mr. Donnelly was an altar boy at St. Charles R.C. Church.
He graduated from New Dorp High School in 1984, and moved to Eltingville in 1993.
For about 20 years, Mr. Donnelly ran his own company, Dennis Donnelly Home Improvement.
Family members remembered him for his kindness, calling him an honest businessman and a loyal friend.
Surviving are his mother, Barbara Marinelli and two sisters, Danielle Donnelly and Melissa Dalton.
The funeral will be tomorrow from the Virginia Funeral Chapel, Dongan Hills, with a mass at 10:15 a.m. in St. Charles R.C. Church, Oakwood. Burial will follow in Ocean View Cemetery, Oakwood. Arrrangements under the direction of Virginia Funeral Chapel, Staten Island, NY.
