

She was born and raised Doris Gerena in Brooklyn. In 2008, she relocated to New Dorp to live with her daughter, Vivian Comparato, and her family.
Mrs. Roman worked as a fine seamstress, creating wedding gowns for Fink Brothers in Queens for 25 years.
A minister's wife who loved studying the bible, she was dedicated to assisting her husband, Pastor Israel Roman, serve at Pentecostal Church of God in Brooklyn. She also loved to sing.
While living on the Island, she was a member of Christian Pentecostal Church, Concord.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Israel, in 2011, and by her grandson, Derek Roman, in 2010.
In addition to her daughter, Vivian, she is survivied by her son, Fundador; her brother, Raymond Gerena, Jr.; her sisters, Celia Estrada and Anita Serrano; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Christian Pentecostal Church. Burial will follow in Ocean View Cemetery, Oakwood. Arrangements are being handled by the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners.
