Florence died October 6, 2022 in Barnegat, NJ at the age of 97. Florence was a longtime resident of Staten Island NY before moving to New Jersey in 2015. Florence (nee Raff) was born in Stapleton and spent most of her life in Concord. She attended PS 12 and Curtis High School.
During her early years she was a member of the Immaculate Conception and Rocky Hollow Fife and Drum Corps. She worked as a long-distance operator for American Telephone and Telegraph.
She married her husband Joseph on September 7, 1947 at Immaculate Conception Church in Staten Island, NY.
Florence enjoyed traveling, golfing, visiting Atlantic City and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Barre, his wife Susan, granddaughter Jennifer Shockey, her husband David, grandson Ryan Barre his wife Sara, and great grandchildren, Benjamin, Tatum, Alexander, McKenna and William.
