

Born in Fort Wadsworth, S.I., Gerald attended P.S. 13 and McKee High School. He was a parishioner of the Church of St. Rita. Gerald was a foreman with the NYC Department of Sanitation. He loved Atlantic City trips with his wife and family. He was known as the "grillman" and fixed barbecue grills in the summer.
Gerald was close to all his grandchildren, and he was the first call for any crisis or advice needed by his family. Most recently he was on a cruise with 28 of his family members and friends.
He was married to Louise Ann Sarcone for 58 years. In addition to Louise, he is survived by his children, Deborah Ann Christine, Gerrilynn Palmieri, Dr. Bryan Dante Pieroni; grandchildren: Alexandria Gatto, Tyler Pieroni, Matthew Pieroni, Kierstyn Pieroni, and Gabriella Palmieri.
Gerald is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Sarcone; sons-in-law, Paul Christine and Joseph Palmieri, and daughter-in-law, Jolie Pieroni.
He was predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Viola.
Visitation is Tuesday, Jan. 2, and Wednesday, Jan. 3, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Casey Funeral Home. Mass is 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at Church of St. Rita. Interment is at St. Peter's Cemetery.
