Enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and traveling with her AARP group
Longtime Staten Island resident Helen B. Taylor died peacefully at Verrazano Nursing Home on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019.
Helen was born in Manhattan to John and Phoebe Barrett on April 24, 1924.
Helen was predeceased by her brother, John Barrett; sisters, Dorothy Spillane and Evelyn Redner; husband, Albert F. Taylor; son, John David Taylor; and grandson, Danny Taylor.
She is survived by her sons, Albert and Martin Taylor; daughter, Christine (Joe) Bachtel; daughter-in-law,Aideen Taylor; grandchildren, Patrick, Martin, Kevin, Tim and PhoebeTaylor and Kerrie Lillie (Austin); granddaughter-in-law, Barbara Taylor; and great-grandchildren, Kayla and Shaun Taylor and Olin and Waylon Lillie.
Helen enjoyed traveling with the Willowbrook AARP group and quilting with the St. Rita's Quilting Group. She excelled at knitting and crocheting, often making baby layettes for premature babies. She had a strong faith and commitment to her family. Helen will be missed by her family and friends.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 19, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m., at Casey Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Nov. 20 at St. Rita's Church. Interment is in St. Peter's Cemetery.
