Mrs. Donovan grew up in Dongan Hills and lived there until 2008, when she relocated to Lakewood.
She graduated from St. Joseph Hill Academy.
Mrs. Donovan worked for 30 years as a secretary at Caddell Dry Dock in West Brighton.
She enjoyed reading and visiting Atlantic City. She loved animals and owned many pet dogs and cats throughout the years.
Her former husband, Dan, died in 1999.
She is survived by her son, David, and one granddaughter.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Casey McCallum-Rice South Shore Funeral Home, with a mass at 9:45 a.m. in St. Clare's R.C. Church, both in Great Kills. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
