A true American hero , father , brother and friend to all that knew Jack. His door , his home and most of all his heart were always open to help friend or foe. Nothing could take away the dignity by which Jack lead his life. You began as my Congressman but became a friend and for that I will always have great memories. My condolences to the Murphy Family. America lost a true hero. May he rest in peace with our Lord in heaven.

Jack was my father-in-law for 12 years.  He was the one of the greats.  His heart and home was open to EVERYONE.  The world was a much better place because he was in it.

Maddin and Ryan, his grand-daughters, adored him.
We will keep your memory alive by living a life full of grace and making a difference.

My condolences to the Murphy family for the loss of a true friend and honorable patriot.  I will always remember Congressman Murphy as my father's friend who I spilled coffee on when I was 3 years old.  Every time I saw he he would always remind me for this and the crazy driving experiences with him and my father Joe Macaluso in Manhattan will always bring a smile to my face and for this I am thankful for having the honor of knowing such a wonderful man. He has touched so many countless lives in a positive way.  And our country he has served well.  My Prayers go out to all of his family and friends who have had such a huge loss but we are comforted by our everlasting amazing stories and memories of him that will always bring a smile to our faces.  Thank you again Congressman Murphy for all you have done.

Jack Murphy will always be thought of, remembered as,
one of Staten Island's most dignified individual's we have had the priviledge to know, and to have been proud of what he did for all of Staten Island.   

His accomplishments are endless including serving his country in the military, devoting his entire life to his family and to politics.  

His community will certainly remember his Irish heritage as well as the Finest Irish Gentleman one could know..and worldwide one of the most "Prominent Congressman ever".  

We loved and respected him for what he stood for and will always be grateful for the many years he served our Staten Island. 

He will always remain in the hearts of all the people, who loved Jack. 

Jack was truly an Icon.

And for his family, they will be blessed forever with his fine legacy he leaves with them.
