John Palumbo, a devoted father, passionate musician, and lifelong car enthusiast, passed away peacefully at the age of 75, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Queens, New York, John lived a life full of heart, rhythm, and deep devotion to those he loved.
He was the beloved father of Julieann, Jessica, Kimberly, Stephanie, and James—his greatest joys and proudest accomplishments. Nothing brought John more happiness than spending time with his children. Whether planning spontaneous day trips or organizing unforgettable summers at Lake George, he always made sure there was fun to be had and memories to be made. He loved being a father more than anything in the world.
John had a lifelong passion for music and was an extraordinary drummer. His talent and energy behind the kit made him the heartbeat of every band he played in. Whether it was a small local show or a packed event, his drumming would light up the room, always drawing a crowd—and the applause that followed was as steady as his beat.
Another of John's lifelong loves was his treasured 1971 Buick GSX. Bought with pride and cared for meticulously over the years, the car was a reflection of his attention to detail and his deep appreciation for craftsmanship. He had it beautifully restored and proudly took it to car shows, where it routinely brought home trophies and admiration from fellow enthusiasts.
John’s warmth, humor, and deep love for his family touched everyone who knew him. He battled lung cancer with courage and grace, and passed away surrounded by the love that he gave so freely in life.
His legacy lives on in his children, in every beat of a drum, in the roar of a vintage engine, and in the countless joyful memories he created.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
