Joe was born in Manhattan to Josephine and Francesco LaRocca. He had an older brother, Anthony (Tony) LaRocca.
Joe was a proud Vietnam veteran who served in the US Army. He later retired from Con Edison after dedicating over 35 years of service.
Joe was an avid storyteller, golfing enthusiast and had a passion for fishing and crabbing.
He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father and loving Papa who had a kind heart, generous spirit and the best sense of humor.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Mary; his daughter, Laura and her husband, Robert Battista; and his granddaughters, Ava and Mia Battista.
Visitation is Tuesday, October 14th from 12-3pm at Casey-McCallum-Rice in Great Kills,S.I. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday at 11am at St. Clare’s Church.
