It is with deep love and great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Julia Tarantola, who left this world very peacefully on December 9th at 7:07 am at the age of 91. She was held in my arms as she gracefully closed her eyes. A privilege to be her caretaker for the years she had Dementia.
Born on March 22, 1934 in Brooklyn, Mom lived a life defined by strength, generosity and unwavering devotion to the people she loved. She married Joseph Tarantola in Brooklyn and together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and many joyous memories.
Mom was the heart of our family, our guide, our comfort, and our greatest champion. She taught us the value of determination, hard work, discipline and finding joy in time spent with the family. Whether she was cooking a favorite meal, offering gentle advice, being a good listener or dancing with my dad, she had a unique flair to everything she wore & did, had a remarkable way of showing everyone how special we were.
She is survived by her children Linda, Joann & Louis who passed two weeks earlier, grandchildren Christopher, Allyse, Melissa, Jesse, great grandchildren James, Harley, Haven, Aspen, Paris, nieces Susan, Carolyn, sister & brother-n- law Angie & Gabe and countless friends whose lives were forever touched by her presence.
We will honor her life on December 20th at
Holy Child, 4747 Amboy Rd, Staten Island 10312, with a service beginning at 10:00 AM. All who knew her are welcome to join us in celebrating her memory.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for every moment we shared with her. Her love will remain with us always.
“Those we love never truly leave us. They are in our mind & memories Always”!
