My father was A loving man, the first one to get a crowd laughing, he really did have a joke for everything. I think he would've wanted me to start this off with, A rabbi A priest and a Muslim walk into a bar.
       He was a great reader, mostly of real estate books and self discipline books. Always trying to better himself. He had his dragons that he tried to conquer. Some successful some not, as life is. For the most part he accepted the loss and gain with equal grace.
     Over the years I would meet people young and old that knew my father, and in every instance they would say how hilarious he was. The men he worked with on the ferry, and people who had been at one of my fathers parties, they would laugh and say they still remember that night.
            But my father was much more than that. He was one of the boy soldiers of World War II, who grew up to quick back then. He spent over three years in the army. His love for learning was evident even back then. Every time the army had a class for the enlisted men, the sergeant would go looking for my father. He would take any class offered, anything to better himself.
       He drove down to Florida after the war to go to flying school. He proposed to my mother in one of those open cockpit planes. He started an airline business with his brother Seymour. If you can believe it his Office was at 2 Broadway in Manhattan. He also delivered old military barges from Jersey to Florida using the intercoastal waterways with his brother Dick
    But when he met Jane Marjorie Stapleton he settled down to the business of bringing up A very large family.(seven kids under 9) As hard as he and my mother worked , he always took time to have fun with us. One time on one of our camping trips, as we were entering a state park, the ranger who was taking the fee for the night asked my father if this was a school picnic. My father handed him the $3 and said" this is not a school, and it's no picnic."
  My father was A funny man but he was also a quiet dreamer, and I think most of his dreams came true, and later in life when his precious daughter Mary Ann and a few years later his beloved wife Jane Marjorie passed away he still dreamed ,but now instead of dreaming about them he can dream with them.

So sorry to read about the passing of your dad.  He always had a sense of humor, so important towards the adversities in life. May you have comforting memories of him.

RIP Uncle Kenneth you will be sadly missed by family and friends, will always remember all the fun times and stories you told.

May happy memories sustain you during your time of sorrow.  Uncle Speed was so whitty. He will be forever missed.

They are having a great big party up in HEAVEN...All the Finnerty's are having a great time.  Those FINNERTY's sure can throw a PARTY..Love to all my Cousin's your Dad is in great company.
