Born on July 6, 1942, in Rosebank, Staten Island, Lucille was the beloved daughter of the late Angelo and Lucy Peres and the youngest of six daughters. She grew up surrounded by the warmth of family — a value she would carry with her throughout her life and instill in all who knew her.
Lucille shared a beautiful and enduring marriage of 62 years with her beloved husband, Cyprian “Chippy” La Pastina, who passed away just four months before her. Their love was the foundation of a life centered on family, faith, and dedication to one another.
She was a proud and loving mother to Very Reverend Cyprian P. La Pastina, Angelo Lee La Pastina, and Sheri Trezza, and a cherished mother-in-law to John Trezza. Her greatest joy came from her role as grandmother to John Trezza and Anthony Trezza, whom she adored deeply and loved beyond measure.
In her younger years, Lucille devoted herself fully to her family as a homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with love, laughter, and tradition. Later, once her children were grown, she worked alongside her husband at Diamonds by Chippy in the Woodbridge Jewelry Exchange — a partnership that reflected both their devotion to one another and their shared pride in their work.
Lucille was known for her exceptional cooking and her love of family gatherings. She took great pride in making every celebration meaningful and every visitor feel at home. Her house was always a place of comfort, joy, and togetherness — a true reflection of her generous spirit and nurturing heart.
She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, devotion to her family, and the quiet grace with which she lived her life. Her love remains a lasting gift to all who knew her.
