

The lifelong Staten Islander was born and raised in Travis. After graduating from McKee High School, she worked for American Express in Manhattan.
When she and Howard Hansen wed in 1957, they settled in Mariners Harbor, and Mrs. Hansen became a full-time homemaker.
After living in Mariners Harbor for over 50 years, Mrs. Hansen moved to Graniteville. She had been undergoing rehabilitation at Golden Gate Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Meiers Corners, when she became ill.
Mrs. Hansen loved going to the Jersey Shore and visits to Atlantic City. She was an enthusiastic Elvis fan and had visited Graceland in Memphis, Tenn. She also was fond of country music and had been to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tenn. And she enjoyed watching "Dancing with the Stars" on television.
She had no children of her own, but was close to her niece and nephew, Marie Szablowski and Andrew Blum, who helped take care of her.
Howard, her husband of 21 years, died in 1978.
Mrs. Hansen also was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Peter Bulatowicz, who died in 2008.
Surviving is her sister, Matilda Veen.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners. Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
