

Rita grew up in Meiers Corners and attended Port Richmond High School and Drake Business School. She was a secretary to the deputy director for N.Y. State Department of Mental Hygiene.
Rita attended St. Teresa's Parish. A homemaker, she enjoyed cruising, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. She survived the blizzard of 1946 when she walked home from the ferry!
Rita was predeceased in 1978 by Roy, her husband of 28 years, and is survived by her children, Janet Knight and her husband, Glenn; Loretta Sayers and her husband, John, and Stephen Macellaio. She was the loving grandmother of Jeffrey Knight (deceased), Jacqueline Mastrofilippo, and John Sayers, and great-grandchildren, Gina, Olivia, Jeffrey Mastrofilippo. She also leaves her brother, Louis Bellico, and multiple nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Katherine Blanco, Concetta Bentley, and Jane Zumpano.
Visiting hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at Casey Funeral Home and the Funeral Mass will be at St. Teresa's Church on Tuesday, Nov 21, at 10:45 a.m. Donations can be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, N.J. 07860.
