Native of Ireland, her grandsons brought her great joy
Rita Mary Ryan (nee Molloy) of South Beach passed away on Oct. 25, 2016.
She was the beloved wife of Morgan; devoted mother of Rita Ann, Martin, and Eileen McMonagle (Peter); loving sister of Patrick and John Molloy, and cherished grandmother of Peter and James McMonagle.
Rita was born in County Mayo, Ireland. She came to the United States at 16 and studied to be a nurse. She married and raised three children.
Rita enjoyed going to services at Mt. Manresa and also enjoyed her summers at Ocean Grove, N.J. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her grandsons, Peter and James.
Funeral from Virginia Funeral Chapel, 1707 Hylan Boulevard, Dongan Hills. Funeral Mass is Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary R.C. Church. Interment is in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
