Grasmere resident Rose passed away peacefully on the evening of Jan. 3, 2019, at the age of 89.
Born in Manhattan to James and Mildred Perrone, she was married for 52 years to World War II veteran Wilbur Latz, who died in 2003.
She was a fulltime homemaker but did work part time for Staten Island Community Corp. and Richmond Home Need Services, Inc. in the 1970s.
She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all. Her children and nieces and nephews were the passion in her life besides loving to read the bible and attending Horizon Christian Fellowship.
Surviving are her children, Ronald and his wife, Andrea, Rita Splaine and her husband, Rob, and loving grandchildren, Ronnie, Robby, Jennifer, Erica, and Christopher. She was blessed with two great-grandchildren, Evie and Charlie.
Rose was predeceased by her brother, James, and is survived by her sister, Marie, and brother, Nick.
The funeral is Wednesday from Harmon Funeral Home, West Brighton, with a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Sylvester R.C. Church. Burial is in St. Peter's Cemetery. Visiting is Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Federation of America.
