Loving Husband and Father, proud Grandfather
Salvatore C. Casella was born in the Bronx in 1938. He moved to New Brighton in the mid 1960's, and resided in West Brighton since 1981. He was proud of this neighborhood he called home. Sal was famously known to walk the neighborhood on Forest Avenue proudly wearing his Yankees World Series Jacket.
Sal was a dedicated family man and had many good friends for decades. Sal was an avid baseball fan. He was respected and admired for his extensive knowledge of baseball history. He was truly a kind gentleman in every aspect.
Sal was so loved by everyone he met, and always had a positive and happy spirit. He retired in 1999 from a career at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
He will be sorely missed by his loving wife for over 60 years, Marie. He is survived by his daughters, Diane LaFronza, Barbara Casella (Donald Stuart), and his pride and joy grandsons, Joseph LaFronza, Christopher Stuart, and Nicholas LaFronza.
A wake will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Harmon Funeral Home, on Sunday, Aug. 23. Private burial will be at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, N.Y
