Sal (as was known to all who knew and cherished him) was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 7, 1970. As a young child he moved with his family to Staten Island where he stayed until 2019. He attended St. Rita’s elementary and St.Peters high school before becoming one of NYC’s finest Police officers.
Sal was an avid fisherman and scuba diver and a true lover of nature and all animals. He spent his lifetime and career helping those less fortunate than himself. In fact, Sal saved the life of an entangled humpback whale.
Sal was currently residing in Ocoee, Florida surrounded by delightful and fantastic friends and family.
He was very happy and healthy with enthusiasm for life when he suffered a tragic and unexpected sudden cardiac arrest secondary to an unexplained cardiac arrhythmia.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents and Father, Salvatore
Sal Jr. is survived by his beloved and wonderful mother, Maria and sister, Angela along with his brother-in-law Mark, niece Gwen, nephew Jason and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
He also leaves behind his best friend, his beautiful husky, Kylo.
Friends and family will be received at Casey Funeral Home on Saturday, April 10th from 2-6 pm.
Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery on April 14th at 1:30pm .
In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association or the Nature Conservancy.
