

Salvatore Prestigiacomo III passed away on March 4 2026 at the age of 71. He was born on October 24, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY to his loving parents Salvatore and Madeline. There he grew up with his sister LuAnn and met his loving wife Shelley of almost 47 years. In 1983 he and his wife moved to Staten Island where they made a home and started their family a few years later when their son Salvatore IV was born. As a husband, father, grandfather, family man, friend, and coworker, he lived his life trying to be the best man he could be and passing his values on to his son and everyone who knew him.
Salvatore is survived by his loving wife Shelley, his beloved son Salvatore IV, his cherished daughter in-law Kristen and his two adoring grandchildren Eliana and Salvatore V. He is also survived by his sister Luann Prestigiacomo and his nieces and nephew.
Salvatore was a funeral director by trade and was a source of peace and compassion for those in need. He made many friends in the industry who cared about him deeply.
He loved baseball and was a huge Yankee fan. He shared his love of the game with his son by teaching and coaching him, going to his baseball games, and watching the Yankees together. He also had the pleasure and pride of watching his granddaughter begin her baseball journey and his son get to take on the role of coach.
He was the life of the party, always telling jokes and loved making people laugh. He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be held at Casey Funeral Home - 350 Slosson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314 on Monday March 9, 2026, between the hours of 1-4 and 6-9. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Roman Catholic Church - 1634 Victory Blvd. Staten Island, NY 10314 on Tuesday March 10, 2026 at 9:30AM with burial immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery - 361 Sharrot Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10309. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to LiveOnNY or The American Heart Association.
