She strives to love herself, and all that she stands for, with a fierce loyalty,
Even when it is difficult.
She is not afraid to seek truth, even when it hurts.
She is passionate, and uses her gifts to inspire and spread light and love. Tangina Kentasia Barnes, 30 years old, of Staten Island, NY, passed away at Mount Sinai Hospital on February 18th, 2022. Surrounded by her mother Vernice Barnes and her dear friend Erick.
She was born in North Carolina on April 25th, 1991, but New York became her home at the age of 3 months old. Early on she attended the prestigious Michael J. Petrides School in Staten Island where she formed lifelong friendships with wonderful people. She was currently attending Maharishi International University and studying for a degree in Maharishi AyurVeda & Integrative Health and Medicine. She also operated her very own pet care business.
a always had a great love for animals, nature and health. It's what lead to her starting her own pet care business. She always inspired people around her to live healthier and more fulfilling lives. She rescued her two dog sons, Freeman and Floyd, while living in North Carolina and gave them the best life any dog would ever want. Our turtle Metro lived for almost 30 years thanks to the love and care she provided. She had such a big heart that recently she rescued a snail and named him Gary, nursing him to health and giving him a home as well. Even in her final days she took the time to text family members from her hospital bed to make sure they were keeping up with health regiments she recommended and keeping doctor appointments. Her bright smile will always be in our memories.
She is survived by her mother Vernice Barnes of Staten Island, NY, Father Gregory Chance of Roper, NC, three Brothers Nydrin Barnes of Raleigh, NC, Shadan Barnes of Staten Island, NY and Derian Chance of Roper, NC, and a host of family and friends, her dogs Freeman and Floyd and we can't forget Gary the snail.
She rises from her adversity, but never forgets where she comes from.
She learns from her past, and chooses to keep going forward,
Even when her steps get heavy.
She transforms her pain and suffering into strength and wisdom.
Yes, she may stumble.
Yes, sometimes she falls.
But just as the sun always rises,
So, too, does a powerful woman.
With a mind of wonder and a heart of goodness and grit, she is resilient.
She refuses to be navigated by fear and doubt.
She knows where she has been, where she is, and where she is headed.
She uplifts other women, and embodies authenticity and humility.
She loves deeply, lives with compassion, and is relentlessly unapologetic.
She is designed to be admired, and does not worry about being liked.
She is fierce, determined, and unstoppable.
She is A Powerful Woman.
Tangin
May Tangina always be remembered for the powerful impact she has had on our lives, forever and ever.
