

Thomas Donohue, 66, of Staten Island, passed away on April 2, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family. Born July 1, 1959, in Manhattan to Bernard and the late Josephine, Tommy was a standout athlete at St. Peter’s Boys High School, where he set enduring records in Staten Island cross-country.
A dedicated NYPD Sergeant, Tommy was defined by his unyielding work ethic and fierce loyalty to the officers he led. On November 13, 1992, he married the love of his life, Diane. As a father to Tommy and Kaitlin, he was an unwavering anchor who never failed to show up.
Known as the bravest and funniest person in the room, Tommy was the life of every party. Whether cheering for the Yankees, hunting in upstate New York, spending time on the beach or sharing a beer with friends, his vibrant energy was unmatched. He is survived by his wife Diane, his children Tommy and Kaitlin, his father Bernard, and his siblings, Christine and her husband Tom and Bernard and his wife Maria, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Josephine.
