Wallace VanPelt MY OLLIE !
My grandfather was the greatest man in the whole world ! If your wondering why you keep seeing “Ollie” is because that is what I named him when I was a little girl and it stuck for my whole family ! If tears could build a stairway and memories could build a lane and I’d walk right up to heaven and bring you home to us ! He was the best dad, grandpa& great grandpa around. He literally lit up my life and made my day every time I saw him . He was always so full of life . Telling us jokes was his favorite thing to do. We would always plant tomatoes with him and he also made that one of my sons hobbies and in his memory we will ALWAYS plant a tomato plant for him . I can’t believe he is no longer visually here with us but I feel him always in my heart . I miss him so much it hurts but I will continue to talk to him daily and keep his memory alive ❤️ Rest in the sweetest peace OLLIE until we meet again  everyone of us miss you we always talk about you and sometimes we cry together and sometimes we laugh together. One last thing before I go Ollies passing reunited us all and I know that is him working his magic from up above 

After reading the beautiful memories from others I decided to share my love for my uncle.  So many memories..., Growing up he was the best, funniest uncle! Best memories are 4th of July! The laughs we had! When he moved back we continued our 4th of July together.  Every time we pull up to my house he had to admire the flowers, fishpond and of course the tomatoes.  Everyone loved Uncle Wally. He always made everyone laugh.  I'm so thankful for all the memories I have with you especially the recent years. Few things that will always remind me of you....bees🐝, tomatoes🍅, white painters pants, and of course the sun🌞.  I will cherish our time together.  💞💞

Grandpa... Simply the funniest and kindest person I ever knew and ever will know. Anyone who had the great opportunity of knowing Wallace knew one thing, you weren’t going to be sitting around in a bad mood or in your thoughts, instead you’ll be laughing and smiling the whole time.. someone who greatly loved his family and especially his only Wife (my Grandmother) who continued to stick by his side through the craziness of this place we call  “life” well since I could remember he lived his life to the fullest and always took advantage of the beautiful weather not just for a few hours but the WHOLE day! Well we’re all missing you more than you could know. I know you’re with us always & made sure to get me out of my head and appreciate my day and do so with a smile on my face.... I love you always Ollie.

Wallace Van Pelt (Ollie) was a man that would do everything and anything for anyone .  He enjoyed the summers Growing up he always had a garden he grew anything from beef steak tomato’s to string beans to a giant pumpkin, he also loved watermelon.  Wallace had his own painting business that he really enjoyed ex specially when he was finished he loved to see the people’s faces as to how happy they were with the work he did , everyone on Staten Island and some off all knew Wallace.  He loved his 3 daughter’s Victoria,Dawnlynn and Stacy also his 12 grandchildren and his 4 great grandchildren and they all loved seeing him ex specially his grandson William ( Chicky) and his great grandson Lorenzo because for the past couple of years they went and helped him plant his garden which he talked about them all the time .  Lorenzo even asked if he was going to go to help Allie plant his garden this year  that was a hard thing to explain to a 4 year old but we will plant a garden for him so he could look down and see them doing it   Daddy we all love you very much and dawn Stacy and I were so lucky to have a daddy like you , you were definitely special to ALL of us . I love you and miss you XXXXXXX OOOOOO

This might seem random, but I worked at Silver Lake for 4 years throughout college from 2012-2015. Wally was one of my favorite residents there. I worked the front desk and patio, and every time he came out to get some air, he lit up my day. The best part was...that was literally ANY day the sun was out. Wally made a habit of enjoying the beautiful weather (even to the point of falling asleep in the sun and getting sunburnt)! I haven’t worked at the nursing home in half a decade, but somebody like Wallace leaves an impression on you you’ll never forget. He found joy in almost everything; even offering me cherry tomatoes on several occasions from “his” tomato garden out in the front of the nursing home. Upon hearing the news of his passing, I stopped and teared for a bit. Then I thought of the few times he’d tell me there’s too much good to ever be sad, and I’ll choose to remember him that way.
