Born on the Island, he moved to Concord in 1960.
Mr. Nolan attended Curtis High School.
He was a member of the New York District Council of Carpenters for 40 years. He retired in 1994.
Mr. Nolan was an accomplished painter, particularly of landscapes, as well as a furniture maker. He also had worked on a farm in Vermont as a teenager, family said.
He was a member of Christian Pentecostal Church, Concord.
Mr. Nolan's wife of 58 years, Gloria, died in 2008. He also was preceded in death by his son, Robert, in 2012.
Surviving are his sons, Gary and David; his brother, Donald, and seven grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Christian Pentecostal Church. Arrangements, including cremation, are being handled by the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners.
