

Herbert Anderson “Andy” Wall, Jr., age 68, passed away early Friday, July 13, 2012 at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). He was born in Charleston, SC grew up in Ridgeland, SC and had been a resident of Bulloch County since 1974. Mr. Wall received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Georgia Southern University and was a founding member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He taught social studies and German language in the Bulloch County school system and retired from education in 2004. Mr. Wall served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He loved his God, his family, and his country. Mr. Wall was preceded in death by his father, Herbert A. Wall, Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn J. Wall of Statesboro; his mother, Vashti W. Wall of Ridgeland, SC; his sisters, Louise Williams of Ridgeland, SC, Linda (Brann) Lowther of Greenwood, SC, Dr. Nancy Wall of Appleton, WI; his sisters-in-law, Cheryl Garner of Lake Park, Ga., Ellawaine Johnson of San Antonio, TX, Anne Ingamells of Helotes, TX, and Katie Johnson of Clarksville, TN; his brother-in-law, Glenn (Sharran) Johnson of Goochland, VA; four nieces; and six nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 15, 2012 in the Fellowship Hall of the Statesboro First United Methodist Church from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M.
Graveside services will be held Monday, July 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Ridgeland Cemetery, Ridgeland, SC with Rev. Jimmy Cason and Elder Kurt Bacon officiating.
