

Jerry Collins, 65, of Bulloch County, Georgia passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2015. Born on May 1, 1949 in Statesboro, Georgia, to parents Willard and Ruby Collins, Jerry lived most of his life in Statesboro and graduated from Statesboro High School in 1967. Jerry served our county with a tour of duty in Vietnam with the United States Marine Corps.-SEMPER FI. He had a career as a Service Technician with Coca-Cola, where he made many friends around town. To his co-workers he was known as “Squirrel”. To everyone else, he was known as “The Coke Man”. Jerry retired from Coca-Cola with 21 years of service. Jerry was a passionate hunter and fisherman and had a love for the outdoors. Known as a friend to all, in the true spirit of family, loved his children and grandchildren with all of his heart and soul. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Patricia Collins Scott and brother, Willard Collins, Jr.
He is survived by his two daughters, Lindsey Collins Craft and her husband, Teddy and Gina Lewis and her husband Kevin, sister, Judy Parrot and brother, Johnny Collins and his wife, Lora, four grandchildren, Jackson Craft, Ryleigh Craft, Demerie Lewis and Dylan Lewis and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Saturday, January 17, in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 17, in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Reverend Melvin Shuman officiating.
Burial, with Military Honors, will be in Eastside Cemetery.
