

Mr. Plymel was born in Omega, GA and had lived in Statesboro for most of his life. Thomas was a machinist with Lockheed Aerospace for many years. He also worked as a truck driver, a mechanic and in the construction industry. Mr. Plymel was of the Baptist faith and served in the Army National Guard for seven years. Thomas enjoyed working on cars, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and he spent his final days surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Annette T. Plymel of Statesboro; sons, Thomas Wayne Plymel of Monroe, GA and Glenn Edwin Plymel and his wife Laura of Statesboro; daughter, Barbara Plymel Herb of Statesboro; 2 sisters, Mary Lee Reneer of Kentucky and Betty Rose Walker of Doerun, GA; 8 grandchildren, Christopher Brian Plymel, Felisha Herb Brown, Brandon James Herb, Thomas Wesley Plymel, Timothy Glenn Plymel, Dustin Thomas Herb, Michaela Lynn Plymel and Logan Jesse Plymel; 7 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
The family will have visitation from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM Friday, December 26, at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 11:30 AM Friday, December 26, in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Reverend Tim Huffingham and Reverend Andrew Huffingham officiating.
Burial will be at Lower Lotts Creek Church Cemetery.
