Brenda Mathes, age 72, of Cleveland, North Carolina passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 31, 2025. Brenda was born June 2, 1952 in Bulls Gap, TN to the late Walter and Barbara Withers. She was a loving Mother and Mam-Maw to her family. Her biggest joy in life was her Grandkids & Great-Grandkids. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Barlie Mathes and her brother Bill Withers. Those left to cherish her memory include her son Richard Mathes (Theresa), sisters Virginia Mathes & Rita Knight, brother Thomas Buttry, Grandkids Jessica Young (Greg), Glenn Mathes (Amanda) & Rachel Mathes along with Great-Grandkids Wesley Moose, William Moose, Le’anna Young, Abilynn Young, Ariel Lozano, Bella Lozano & Ben Beck.
A visitation for Brenda will be held Thursday, June 5, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home, 705 Davie Ave, Statesville, NC , followed by a celebration of life from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
