Bridget Lynn Gilbert Evans

Bridget Lynn Gilbert Evans, 71, of Statesville, North Carolina passed away on January 15, 2026 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. A native of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Carl William Gilbert, Sr. and Ruth Charleen Alexander Gilbert.

She was a little woman that lived a big life. She loved crafting, gaming, playing on the computer--anything to use her ind. She also enjoyed playing Bingo. She was an active participant in LPA activities and enjoyed attending their conventions. She met her beloved husband, Arthur Craig Evans, at a convention in Boston, Massachusetts.

She is survived by her brother, Carl W. Gilbert, Jr. (Branda); by a niece, Holly Brown; by her nephews, Carl W. Gilbert, III (Susan), Jesse Garcis, Xavier Garcia; and by her great nieces Caroline and Samantha Gilbert.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Hillcrest Gardens in Mt. Holly with Pastor James Lewis officiating.
