

Born in Iredell County on May 29, 1940, he was the son of the late Lawrence Daniels and Effie McHargue Daniels. He attended Central High School and retired from Hoechst Celanese.
Tommy served in the United States Navy and the United States Navy Reserves. He also enjoyed being a huge part of BSA Troop 618. He also was a Red Cross Disaster Team volunteer and worked at numerous blood drives across the county.
He spent many days and hours being involved with the fire service, having served in many capacities for 40 years with the Trinity Volunteer Fire Department. He was instrumental in starting the 1st Junior Firefighter Program at Trinity.
Tommy was a member of Yadkin Baptist Church and served with the Baptist Men. He loved his community and showed it through his many years of volunteering.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Judy Childers Daniels, whom he married on November 9, 1963; three sons, Charles Thomas Daniels, Jr. (Lisa), Curtis Daniels (Ronda) and Eric Daniels (Shelley); eight grandchildren, Amber Reels (Daniel), Ashley Miller (Matt), Kalyn Daniels, Will Daniels, Jordan Daniels, Kensley Daniels, Adalyn and Ansley Daniels.
He is further survived by two great-grandchildren, Christopher Daniels and Kimber Miller; a special brother-in-law, Gwyn Childers; one sister, Betty Alexander (Nick); two step-brothers, Buddy and Jon; one step-sister, Candice and two special aunts, Ruby Dellinger (Roy) and Sadie Harris (Joe).
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Yadkin Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM with the Rev. Tony Bunton and Rev. J.B. Parker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites provided by the Iredell County Veterans Honor Burial Detail.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jay Stewart, Billy Keller, Kent Moore, Nelson Dellinger, Roger Alexander, Hal Lackey and Stanley Childers. Members of the Trinity Fire Department will be seated together as Honorary Pallbearers.
