She was born in Iredell County on March 1, 1935, to Clyde Martin and Bessie Spicer Reves. Coleen married James Robert Hope who precedes her in death. Her parents and siblings, Von Reves and Louise Austin, also precede her in death. Coleen is survived by her daughter, Millicent Hope, and her beloved extended family.
Coleen was a lifelong member of Rose Chapel Methodist Church and one of the joys of her life was singing in the choir. She loved God, family, friends, her home, flower gardening, and being artistically creative. She was blessed to have two careers she enjoyed, first as a beautician and later as a mail carrier.
She had a special relationship and a place in her heart for her caregivers: Karen, Katrina, Sarah, Texie and Darlene.
Coleen did not want a typical funeral service but a Song Fest Memorial so in lieu of flowers please send a donation to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County at www.HOIC.org.
The Song Fest Memorial will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 9th, 2023 at Rose Chapel Methodist Church, 813 Turnersburg Hwy, Statesville, NC 28677. There will not be a formal visitation.
