

She was born March 6, 1915, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late John Henderson and Margaret Lutisha Overcash Miller. She was the oldest member of Knox Chapel United Methodist Church in Cleveland and retired from Troutman Shirt Company. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and spent most of her time being with her grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Ross Talbert, four sisters, and three brothers.
She is survived by four daughters, Carol Kennerly and Ann Tolbert (Buddy), both of Cleveland, Brenda Perry (Larry) of Troutman, and Becky Knox (Jerry) of Statesville; seven grandchildren, Debbie Meredith (Johnny), Ronnie Kennerly (Tina), Angie Cherry, Joe Perry, Susan Perry, Maria Robinson, and Shannon Robinson; seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services celebrating Elizabeth’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 1, 2012, at Knox Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Myers officiating. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home and at other times will be at Mrs. Talbert’s home in Cleveland.
