James Dwight White

Born in Alexander County on July 19, 1926, he was the son of the late Lizzie White.

Mr. White was a self-employed automotive mechanic and later worked for Statesville Auto Supply till he was 83. He served in the United States Army.

He was a charter member of Westminster Church of God for 50 years, where he helped in the building of the church and took care of the grounds.

Mr. White was blessed to live to see five generations of his family.

Also preceding him in death was his wife, Lennie Tilley White, who passed away on November 26, 1999.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Vivian W. Stewart of Statesville, Janice W Duncan (Dwight), of Statesville and Darrell White (Pam) of Mooresville. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Scottie Stewart, Angie Shuler, Jeffrey Duncan, Randall Duncan and Randi Sullivan: 1 step-grandchild, Meredith Shoe; seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, one sister, Dessie Prevette and a brother, Paul Clanton.

The family will receive friends at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 6:30 PM – until.

The funeral serving honoring Mr. White will be held in the Westmoreland Chapel of the funeral home on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Gary Helton and Rev. John Miles officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeffrey Duncan, Randall Duncan, Scottie Stewart, Eric Sullivan, Jarred Duncan and Jason Shuler. Honorary pallbearer will be Don Stewart.
