

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Jimmy Reece Wooten left his earthly body for his heavenly one May 7 at Gordon Hospice House. Jimmy is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Peggy Crocker Wooten of the home; son, James Michael Wooten and wife Gail of Murrells Inlet,SC; Granddaughter Erica W. Woodward and husband Dixon of Daniel Island,SC; and Monica Wooten of Conway, SC; two great grandsons Andrew Dixon and James Michael Woodward of Daniel Island; one brother, Lonnie Wooten and wife Nancy, two sisters, Mildred Price and Betty Wilson and her husband Paul White, all of Statesville, as well as many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are members of a very special adopted family, Sherlon and Linda Wheeler and their children, Alan and Cheryl.
He was born on April 2, 1935 in Iredell County to Ruben Wooten and Vesper (Betty) W. Martin, both deceased. He was also preceded by his step father, Mouzon Martin.
He graduated from Celeste Henkel High School in 1953. He worked with Southern Railway and JR Wooten Construction from which he retired. He was involved in a number of businesses, among them is Tilly Harley Davidson where he was a founding partner.
He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, Statesville Masonic Lodge No. 27., and he was a charter member and past president do the West Iredell Ruritan Club where he had a perfect meeting attendance for 25 years. He was twice awarded Ruritan of The Year.
He was a true and loyal friend to all and he will be missed by all that knew him.

The family will receive friends at the Beulah Baptist Church Sanctuary Friday night from 6:30 till 9:00. The funeral will be held at Beulah Baptist Church at 3:00 on Saturday with Rev. Henry Cook and Reverend Dr. Alen Roberts officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
