Joyce Marie Joines Parks

She was born in Taylorsville on September 1, 1932, and was a daughter of the late Claude and Alice Lowe Joines. She was retired from Hunt Manufacturing Company, was a member of the Baptist faith and had voluteered with S.C.A.N.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Joines; three brothers, Paul, Jack and Jim Joines; and a sister, Judy Brown.

She is survived by a son, Sam Parks and his wife, Winna Campbell Parks, of Statesville; a brother, Jerry Joines of Taylorsville; two sisters, JoAnn Hardee of Zebulon and Janette Lawing of Hickory.

Funeral services celebrating Mrs. Parks life will be held 3:00 PM Monday, August 19, 2013, at Monticello United Methodist Church with the Rev. J.C. Parks and the Rev. John Parks, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the church on Monday prior to the service.
