Karen Sykes Parmer

Born August 9, 1947 in Flint, Michigan, she was the daughter of Ross C. Sykes and Mildred Reynolds Sykes Krause.

Mrs. Parmer was a loan officer with United Federal Credit Union. She enjoyed painting, cross-stitching and crocheting.

In August 1965, she married Gregory Allen Parmer, Sr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband; son, Gregory Allen Parmer, Jr. and wife Jill of Mooresville; daughters, Lisa Houston and husband Kelby and Dianne Woodside and husband Chad, all of Statesville; seven grandchildren, Kyle Houston, Kortney Houston, Alec Bowman, Seth Bowman, Victoria Woodside, Alex Fry and Claire Fry.

The family will receive friends Monday, March 2, 2015 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM in the Westmoreland Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Beth Davidson officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Parmer, Kelby Houston, Chad Woodside, Kyle Houston, Seth Bowman, Tracy Parmer. Honorary pallbearers serving will be Kortney Houston and Victoria Woodside.
