Louise Gwendolyn Dagenhart

Born on July 11, 1926 in Harmony, she was the daughter of the late James Nathaniel “Sam” Holmes and Pearlie Mae Moose Holmes. She was the loving wife of 48 years to Calvin Julius Dagenhart, who preceded her in death in 1997.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Susan Lynn Query Dagenhart; brother, Alvin Nathaniel Holmes; niece, Johanna Holmes Hewitt Hoover, and nephew, Kent Alvin Holmes.

Louise was retired from Dagenhart Wood Carving Company. She loved spending time outside gardening flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed searching for antiques alongside her husband. Louise was one of the founding members of Broad Street Church of Christ.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Sammy Ray “Sam” Dagenhart; granddaughter, Courtney Elizabeth Dagenhart Hucks (Justin Allen); grandson, Shane Patrick Dagenhart (Brittney Lee Campbell); sister, Janet Lucille Holmes Hewitt; sister-in-law, Frieda Maxine Caton Holmes, and great-grandchildren, Noah Alan Hucks, Vivian Grace Hucks, Grant Julius Hucks, Thatcher Oliver Hucks, Julian Alexander Hucks, Sullivan Ray Dagenhart, and one yet to be named.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019 at Tabor Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Shane Patrick Dagenhart, Keith Allen Holmes, Mark Irvin Holmes, Johnny Carlton Hewitt, Todd Allen Hewitt, and Charles Ray Hewitt.
