

Marcus worked for the family business building drawer boxes with his father and brother. He was a volunteer firefighter, avid Panther’s fan, a member at Cleveland Believer’s Fellowship, part of a prison ministry choir, and deeply in love with his beautiful wife and unborn son. He was born on August 6th, 1988 in Garrett County, Maryland.
He was proceeded in death by his brothers Darius Anthony and Justin Eric, as well as his aunt Mary Nissley, and grandparents, Elmer and Martha Hostetler.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Yoder) Kauffman and unborn son; his parents, David and Linda Kauffman, of Woodleaf, North Carolina; two sisters, Yolanda and Cheryl, two brothers, Brian and Josiah, all residing in Woodleaf, North Carolina, and his grandparents, Abe and Ella Kauffman.
Marcus leaves behind a gaping hole in our hearts, but we look forward to the day when we will be reunited, and wrapped once again in his tight hug.
Services celebrating Marcus' life will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday at Mac Gray Auditorium at Statesville Senior High School with Pastor Joe Byler officiating. Burial will follow in the Cleveland Believers Fellowship Cemetery in Rowan County.
The family will receive friends Sunday (today) from 3:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Mac Gray Auditorium at Statesville Senior High School.
