

She was born June 17, 1920, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late John Franklin and Elizabeth Morrow Elliott. She was a devoted and faithful homemaker who loved her children dearly. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and canning and was a former member of East Side Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on October 10, 1998, by her husband, James Carl Parker, whom she married on January 9, 1942; two sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by a daughter, Jane Parker (Mike) Brown of Winston-Salem; a son, James F. (Linda) Parker of Statesville; three grandchildren, Amy Renee (Nate) Hercules, Michael Todd (Leslie) Brown and James Corey (Crystal) Parker; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service celebrating Margaret’s life will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday, February 4, 2014, in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. J.C. Parks officiating. Burial will follow at Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery in Catawba.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
