Born on January 23, 1939 in Washington, DC, Jill was the daughter of the late Robert Hampton and Josephine Heitmuller Brown. Jill attended Washington & Lee HS Arlington, VA and Garrett College in MD, and had a long history of working for Southern States in VA and NC.
Jill was an accomplished horsewoman and loved sharing her lifelong passion for horses with many young people in the area. She also loved to cook and crochet, making many lovely things for friends and family. Jill traveled widely, but was probably happiest to be at home working outside. Jill was a member of New Salem UMC.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Kinser.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Debi (James) Crowe of Halifax, VA, Neil Garlock (Gail) of Sanford, FL and Kathy Garlock (Sam) of Front Royal, VA; grandchildren, Steve (Waleska) Crowe, Brian Crowe, Melissa (Gerald) Edmonds, Kim Crowe (Agu), Jennifer Douglas and Scott Douglas; great-grandchildren, Justin, Gabriel and Halel; siblings, Nancy Lyons, Barbara Atwood, Janet Bowman, Robert Brown,Jr and many other loving family members.
A celebration of Jill’s life will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 12:00 pm in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am-12:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
Jill will travel to her final resting spot for a 2:00pm graveside service on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Iredell County Hospice and Palliative Care 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, North Carolina 28625.
