

She was born December 17, 1916, in Richmond, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late W.S. and Molly Goodin Greenwood. She was a faithful, long-time member of Western Avenue Baptist Church. She enjoyed her family gatherings, her strong Christian faith, and was known for her exceptional memory.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vivian S. Pharr; a great-granddaughter, Jacqueline P. Smith; and a brother, Boyd Greenwood.
She is survived by two daughters, Janette S. (Jack) Combs of Mt. Ulla and Linda S. (James) Stamper of Statesville; a son, Larry H. (Sandra) Sane of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a brother, Foy A. Greenwood of Chesapeake, VA; eight grandchildren, Michael Pharr, Sr., Michelle P. (Buck) Stevens, Rhonda P. (Bear) Simpson, Scottie Stamper, Jeanna S. (Rick) McClure, J. Avery Stamper, Cory (Denise) Sane, and Dave (Joni) Sane; three great-grandchildren; a nephew and four nieces.
Service celebrating Mary’s life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 21, 2015, in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Dr. James D. Cartin officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Wednesday prior to the service. Private burial will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery.
