

He was born September 3, 1929, in Olyphant, Pennsylvania, and was the son of the late Stephen E. and Anna A. Artemik. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Encon Sales in Clifton, NJ, and previously worked for Pantasote, Inc. He enjoyed drafting, playing the accordion, and traveling, especially to Atlantic City for gambling fun.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on January 1, 2008, by his wife, Barbara Johns Artemik whom he married on September 25, 1965, and a brother-in-law, Willard Wilhowsky.
Michael is survived by a sister, Anna A. Wilhowsky; a brother, John Artemik; niece, Carol Wilhowsky, niece, Lora Wilhowsky DiPietro and her husband, Jay DiPietro; and a great-niece, Jenna Ann DiPietro, all of Statesville.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
