Michael Harris Steele

He was born on November 30, 1966, in Iredell County and was a son of W. Locke and Joan Wagner Steele, both of whom survive and are of Cleveland. Mike was an assembler at Daimler and a member of Third Creek Presbyterian Church. He graduated from West Rowan High School and Watterson Institute of Technology in Deisel Mechanics. He enjoyed participating in rodeo events, mowing hay, being outdoors, building things with his dad, teaching his children how to rope, as well as any and all family activities. He especially loved his horse PacMan and was also an Eagle Scout.

On May 29, 2005, he married the former Kim Snow who survives. Also surviving are a son, Bo Stikeleather and his fiance' Heather Hammond; a daughter, Bethy Stikeleather, both of the home; two brothers, Gary (Liz) Steele of Cleveland and Col. William T. "Tommy" (Kim) Steele of Ft. Bragg; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Janet Snow of Statesville; his in-laws, Chris (Danielle) Snow and Kelly (Marty) Liles, all of Statesville; and ten nieces and nephews.

Services celebrating Mike's life will be conducted at 2:00 Saturday, August 31, 2013, in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Don McCann officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
