He was born March 30, 1950, in Byron, Michigan, and was the son of Richard LeRoy Perkins, Sr. and the late Donna Belle Burns Perkins. He retired from the U.s. Air Force and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Millie W. Perkins, whom he married on July 2, 1984; two daughters, three sons, nine grandchildren, four sisters, and three brothers.
Memorial service celebrating Dick's life will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, September 4, 2013, in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
The family will speak with friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
